TX Governor Signs County Clerk Freedom Bill

Gov. Abbott of Texas signed the County Clerk Freedom Bill, which allows county clerks to leave their names off marriage licenses and applications if they object to a marriage on religious grounds. This is good news for those county clerks who don’t want to have their names attached to a same-sex “marriage” in the Lone Star State. The bill goes into effect September 1.
