Science Teacher Comes Out as ‘Transgender’ Via Video to Elementary Students

Science teacher Mark “Vince” Busenbark of Frank Allis Elementary School in Madison, Wis., was given permission by school administrators to show his “transgender coming out” video to all the K-5th grade students in the school on May 16. The video was shown without prior parental consent and without the option to exempt chidren from watching the video.

Busenbark revealed himself as the new persona “Vica Steel,” asked students to call him by the title “Mx,” and to refer to him by using the pronouns “they,” “them,” and “their.” He also read this from the book They Call Me Mix by Lourdes Rivas: “Are you a boy? Or a girl? How can you be both? Some days I am both. Some days I am neither. Most days, I am everything in between.” Sadly, Busenbark has a wife, Stella Steel, whose last name he will now be using.

Liberty Counsel is looking into whether the video violated the school district’s policy that says “all instruction should be age-appropriate, medically accurate, non-stigmatizing, and inclusive for all students.”

In a statement, Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel said, “It is outrageous that school administrators would allow a male science teacher to expose children to propaganda that promotes confusion about basic biology, and to instruct students to address him by a false name, title and pronouns.”

Obama-Era Transgender Military Mandate Stops April 12

Gender-confused individuals looking to join the Armed Forces with the hope that they would pay for their sex-change surgeries or provide hormone treatment to “transition” to an appearance resembling the other biological sex are going to be out of luck after April 12.

At that time, anyone diagnosed with gender dysphoria and taking hormones or who has already “transitioned” to conform their appearance to that of the other sex will not be allowed to enlist. Additionally, those already in the military who are diagnosed with gender dysphoria after April 12 will not be allowed to undertake hormone therapy or have “sex-reassignment” surgery and must serve in their biological sex.

With the final legal injunction lifted last week, the Pentagon recently approved this new Trump-approved policy that discontinues taxpayer spending (currently at nearly $8 million since 2016) for “transitioning” services. The Department of Defense’s order gives the military services 30 days to implement the new policy. Service secretaries can waive the policy on a case-by-case basis.

Heritage Foundation defense expert and retired Lieutenant General Tom Spoehr contends it would “be reckless and ill-advised to allow [transgender] individuals demonstrably at a higher risk of suicide and anxiety to join the military and be subject to the increased stresses of military duty—both for the readiness of their units and for the safety of the individual.”

Iowa Jury Awards Transgender Man Access to Men’s Prison

A transgender man was recently awarded $120,000 in damages from an Iowa jury for emotional distress resulting from the former employer’s discriminatory actions.

As a former nurse at the Iowa Department of Corrections, Jesse Vreogh, a biological woman who self-identifies as a man, claimed that the department’s refusal to allow her access to male prison restrooms and locker rooms and failure to include “medically necessary” gender reassignment surgery in the state insurance plan violated the state’s sexual orientation and gender identity protection law (SOGI law). The law prohibits “discrimination against a person because of his/her sexual orientation or gender identity.”

Even though the Department of Corrections accommodated Vreogh by giving her access to her own bathroom, the jury also sided with Vreogh in believing that the state should have paid for her double mastectomy so she could look more like a man.

“Watching the transgender lobby, with the powerful ACLU behind them, take the transgender bathroom wars from schools to the workplace with success shows a frightening disdain for the privacy and rights of others,” writes journalist Nicole Russell.

The state of Iowa will likely appeal.

First ‘Transgender’ Wins Legislative Seat in Virginia

Liberal progressives “made history” Tuesday night with the election of “transgender” Democrat Daniel “Danica” Roem to the Virginia Legislature, defeating one of the commonwealth’s staunchest social conservative delegates, incumbent Bob Marshall. Roem is now delegate-elect for Virginia’s 13th House of Delegates district.

While LGBT activists are thrilled that Roem is the first-ever “transgender” state legislator, conservatives in Virginia should be concerned that a man who defended life, family, bathroom privacy, and religious liberty just got replaced by someone the Human Rights Campaign supports.

Said Terry Schilling, executive director of American Principles Project, “This is what happens when the radical transgender lobby pours more than $600,000 into a small state race and conservative donors largely sit the race out—Democrats cruise to victory and claim a mandate on an issue they were too afraid to outwardly campaign on.” Let this not be the case in Tennessee, where every last vote is needed to protect our conservative values.

Liberal Judge Thwarts Trump’s ‘Transgender’ Military Mandate

Through a temporary injunction Monday, U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly prevented President Trump’s July executive order concerning “transgenders” in the military from moving forward. Judge Kollar-Kotelly tried to argue for some “right” to military entrance by suggesting that “transgenders” are a type of protected class while acknowledging that she “is aware of no binding precedent on this issue.”

But FRC’s Tony Perkins said, “An unelected U.S. district court judge has absolutely no authority to create a special legal category for anyone!” He further added, “The goal [of the military] isn’t to advance ‘tolerance’ or help people on the path to self-actualization. It’s to fight and win wars. And that mission is severely compromised when activist courts try to force the military into accepting unstable recruits in the name of ‘fairness.’”

Citizens should recall that as commander-in-chief, the president has wide discretion in ensuring the military operates in a way that best protects the country. The Justice Department is weighing options on how to proceed.
