School Worker in Maine Warned Not to Share Faith
Augusta (Maine) School Department worker Toni Richardson was reprimanded for privately telling a coworker who goes to her church that she would pray for him while they were on school property. She was ordered not to make any “reference to [her] spiritual or religious beliefs” and that doing so could lead to disciplinary action or even job loss.
Richardson, through First Liberty Institute, has filed a formal complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission based on religious discrimination and retaliation.
