David Daleiden on His Undercover Pro-Life Work

The Center for Medical Progress’ David Daleiden, the pro-life activist behind the fetal tissue trafficking exposé videos that revealed Planned Parenthood’s culpability, shared his thoughts about his two-and-a-half year undercover journey recently on the Eric Metaxas Show. Daleiden and coworker Sandra Merritt were charged by the state of California with 15 felonies, many of which dealt with the California video recording law.

Says Daleiden about the charges in the audio interview, “My videos expose the sacred cows of the California political establishment, Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry. That’s what is so dangerous about this prosecution is that it is not being brought for legal reasons whatsoever. It is being brought for purely political reasons.” Despite the trumped up charges, Daleiden shows no malice. “This entire undercover project was a project done out of love,” he says.

Center for Medical Progress Launches Latest Video, Faces Possible Contempt

David Daleiden of Center for Medical Progress and his attorneys could be found in contempt of court as a result of the attorneys releasing yet another undercover video exposing Planned Parenthood’s gruesome profiteering of fetal tissue in violation of a gag order.

His attorneys also released the names of the people who accused David Daleiden and coworker Sandra Merritt in the felony charges, accusers who had previously been referred to only as “Does.”

The latest Center for Medical Progress video was pulled from YouTube recently for containing “inappropriate content,” but you can still watch it on the LifeSiteNews website here. Daleiden and his attorneys will appear in court June 14.

ADF Encourages 9th Circuit to Uphold Daleiden’s First Amendment Rights

Through a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of the Susan B. Anthony List Education Fund, Alliance Defending Freedom is asking the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal for an en banc (“by all the judges”) review of a three-judge panel’s split decision in National Abortion Federation v. Center for Medical Progress.

The panel upheld a trial court’s decision that barred David Daleiden from releasing videos made while attending National Abortion Federation conferences in 2014 and 2015. The case relates to the First Amendment rights of investigative journalists.

Center for Medical Progress Slapped with Criminal Complaint

Historically, laws criminalizing secret recordings of conversations were understood not to apply to undercover journalistic endeavors. But if you’re a conservative journalist, you might watch out. On Tuesday, California’s attorney general went against precedent and issued a criminal complaint against the two pro-life undercover journalists who documented Planned Parenthood’s fetal tissue trafficking, David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP). The AG is alleging that CMP recorded 14 abortion workers without their consent. They have been charged with 15 felonies in the state of California.
