LGBT Poll Shows Millennials Are Less Tolerant of LGBT

A Harris Poll conducted for the LGBT advocacy group GLAAD shows that millennials (those who are 18-34 years old) are actually less tolerant of LGBT individuals now than they were even a year or two ago, results that have surprised and alarmed the “inclusive” Left. The percentage of young people who said they were comfortable around LGBT people dropped from 63% in 2016 to 53% in 2017 to 45% in 2018. And for young women, the drop in overall acceptance fell from 64% in 2017 to 52% in 2018.

“We count on the narrative that young people are more progressive and tolerant,” John Gerzema, CEO of The Harris Poll, told USA TODAY. “These numbers are very alarming and signal a looming social crisis in discrimination.”

While these latest stats may bother LGBT supporters, evangelicals should see this as an opportunity to present a biblical perspective on the LGBT lifestyle and transform the millennials’ and anyone else’s “discomfort” into a love that reflects God’s heart and hope for those caught up in this lifestyle.

The more people see what mainstreaming pseudo-sexuality really means, the more they discover why people marginalized it in the first place.
