As early voting in Tennessee begins to come to an end and the November sixth Election Day approaches, eyes across the nation are watching the race for the U.S. Senate.
With the retirement of Bob Corker, some hope that Phil Bredesen can win and give the Democratic Party the one vote they need to become the majority party.
Voters must make their own choice, but they shouldn’t be fooled by Bredesen’s promise not to vote for Chuck Schumer as the Senate leader. Under the Senate’s rules, whoever gets a majority of the votes to be leader of their party’s caucus is automatically the leader of the Senate if their party holds a majority of the seats in the Senate.
So, as you vote in that race, remember you are also voting for either Mitch McConnell or Chuck Schumer.
