The Senate hearings related to Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court proved to be a sicker version of television viewing than today’s unrelenting stream of reality shows.
What should have been a serious civil proceeding was dominated by loudmouthed, disruptive protestors, encouraged in their boorish behavior by those in the U.S. Senate who are more like Jerry Springer wannabes than senators.
This spectacle brings to mind Proverbs 29:9, “If a wise man has an argument with a fool, the fool only rages and laughs, and there is no quiet.”
How true. The fool not only has nothing worthy to say, but he or she distracts and disrupts people from being able to hear that which needs to be heard.
The only thing worse than this kind of fool is one who tolerates such foolishness.
