Off to the Races

Early voting starts Friday for the August 2nd election. Sadly, too many voters skip this election cycle, waiting until the November election to cast their ballot. This is a terrible mistake.

Beginning this Friday and running through July 28, voters will decide who will run their local county government. These officials decide important things like property tax issues, school funding, and zoning matters. They’ll run the local jail and dispense justice at the courthouse.

But at the state level, where most legislative districts are drawn to ensure only a Democrat can win or only a Republican can win, the odds are your state legislator will be decided by August.

And with contested Democratic and Republican primaries for governor, why let other people limit who you can vote for in November?

So, make sure you vote this election cycle.
