Last Sunday was Mother’s Day and next month we’ll celebrate Father’s Day. But given civil government’s sanction of two-mother and two-father households, will these honorific days pass away even as the Boy Scouts, an organization for boys, has passed away?
Will two-mother households want their children asking why they don’t celebrate Father’s Day and wondering if they have lost something special because their family is intentionally missing a father? And the same concerns could be voiced about Mother’s Day by two-father households.
Given our increasing proclivity to be offended, claiming these special days are offensive and must go may be preferable to recognizing we have exchanged the truth about marriage and parenthood for lies. Sin, we’re told, is exchanging the truth for a lie, and it always ends in death. This time it may be Mother’s Day.
