Don’t Separate Thanks From the Giver

Thanksgiving, for many, is just a time for friends and good food. For others, it’s a time to be thankful for all the things we enjoy, beyond the food on our table and friends, more basic things like shelter, clothing, and income that allow us to get along in this life.

And we should be thankful. But the real question is to whom is that thanks due?

In Romans 11:36, Paul tells us that all things come from God and through God and are for God, so we dare not separate our thanks from the true Source of that for which we give thanks.

But especially we should not separate our thanks from Jesus Christ, the God-man, who reconciled us to God that we might know our Heavenly Father from whom these good gifts are given.
