Disneyland to Hold First ‘Pride’ Event in Paris

While Disney’s American theme parks in Florida and California have hosted “Gay Day” events since as early as 2007 and Disneyland Paris has held unofficial gay-friendly events since 2014, on June 1, Disneyland Paris will host Disney’s first official “Magical Pride” event to honor Gay Pride Month. The event encourages patrons to “dress like a dream, feel fabulous and experience Walt Disney Studios Park like never before—loud, proud, and alive with all the colors of the rainbow.”

Disney’s upcoming film Jungle Cruise will feature an openly homosexual character for the first time. The film is slated for an October release.

Brazil’s New President Vows to Turn Around Moral Collapse

Jair Bolsonaro was recently sworn in as Brazil’s president. In his presidential remarks, Bolsonaro, a Christian, boldly proclaimed, “I place myself before the whole nation, on this day, as the day in which the people began to liberate itself from socialism, from the inversion of values, from big government, and from political correctness.”

He chose Damares Alves, a like-minded Christian leader, as his new minister for Women, the Family, and Human Rights. The staunchly pro-life Alves vowed to stop abortions and to “do away with the abuse of ideological indoctrination” in the form of gender ideology that LGBT activists had been pushing in public schools.

Let’s pray for this new, bold man of God and his successful leadership. We can also pray that those Christians numbered among our political leaders would be so bold in their commitment to stand for life and God’s design for human sexuality.

Church of England Celebrates Birthday Party for Muhammad and Jesus

A Church of England congregation in Kingston upon Thames held an interfaith celebration for Muhammad and Jesus at the beginning of December.

But Adrian Hilton, publisher of one of the U.K.’s most popular political and highest-ranking religion blogs, said, “Muhammad gets his prophethood, while Jesus gets neither his prophethood nor his priesthood; neither his kingship nor his messiahship. It’s the exalted Prophet Muhammad along with plain old Jesus, because to have added any of his claims to divinity would, of course, have alienated many Muslims.”

Earlier in the year, Westminister Abbey conducted two interfaith meetings with Muslims. Leo Hohmann, World Net Daily news editor, warns Christians about the danger of this kind of interfaith movement: “Allowing the Quran to be read inside a church is the equivalent of the ancient Israelites setting up an image of a false god in the Holy of Holies.”

Bermuda Considers Repeal of Same-Sex ‘Marriage’

The island nation of Bermuda is reconsidering its same-sex “marriage” law and instead is looking at offering same-sex couples domestic partnerships status with benefits. The nation legalized same-sex “marriage” through a court order in May, although the order did not provide benefits for same-sex couples. If Bermuda succeeds in reversing that law, it would be the first country in the world to return to the biblical definition of marriage: the union of one man and one woman. The House of Assembly has passed the Domestic Partnership Act, which now goes to the Bermuda Senate.

MP Wayne Furbert said, “I support it because at the end of the day it removes the right to same-sex ‘marriage’ and it tells the court that this Parliament will stand for what is right.” Sylvan Richards, shadow minister of planning, added, “It’s going to give individuals the rights they need and it’s going to keep marriage between a man and a woman, which was my goal.”

Victoria, Australia Okays Assisted Suicide

The Australian state of Victoria just legalized assisted suicide. Starting in mid-2019, Victorians with terminal, incurable illnesses who have been residents of the state for a year or more will be able to obtain a lethal drug within 10 days of a request.

The legalization of euthanasia in Victoria is good news for Australian-born Dr. Philip Nitschke, founder of Exit International and creator of the new death machine known as the Sarco. This spaceship-like contraption floods patients within its luxurious capsule with liquid nitrogen. The patients experience a relatively fast and painless death. The whole operation will be open-source and could theoretically be 3-D printed anywhere in the world. Nitschke is in talks with suicide clinics in Switzerland to license the machine.

This new technology could lead to offering death on demand in the future in those countries that have already legalized assisted suicide for terminal illnesses. Hopefully, the rest of the states in Australia won’t follow suit but instead will offer its citizens more reasons to live than to die.
