California’s Board of Registered Nursing, reversing an earlier decision, recently sent a letter to pro-life nonprofit Heartbeat International asking it to cease and desist from educating nurses about the abortion pill reversal procedure that has been shown to save a baby from a chemical abortion.
“This is a naked political assault on a procedure that is the very essence of choice . . . This is the abortion lobby taking choices away from women,” said Heartbeat International’s president, Jor-El Godsey, about the sudden board reversal. The ministry had already undergone a 17-month audit prompted by California state Sen. Jerry Hill (D-San Mateo) before this latest news.
Heartbeat International was given five days from receipt of the cease and desist letter to remove the continuing education unit credit from its online Abortion Pill Reversal courses, and the pro-life ministry is complying. But the courses will still be available online through the Heartbeat International Academy while the organization appeals the board’s latest decree.
