Australian Senator Says No to Same-Sex ‘Marriage’ on Postal Survey

Despite pressures from her colleagues, Australian Labor Sen. Helen Polley of Tasmania has decided to vote against legalizing same-sex “marriage” in Australia’s nationwide postal survey. “This is a very personal, very much a conscience vote, and my Christian belief and my faith tell me one thing,” she explained.

Pressures are great not just for Polley but for regular Christian citizens in the country who fear being labeled as bigots or losing their jobs by discussing their views on marriage. Australia’s conservative Coalition for Marriage recognizes the legitimacy of these concerns and hopes to encourage bravery on the part of the faith community.
