Alexa Gets Updated for ‘Pride Month’

Amazon’s popular assistant, Alexa, has just been updated with “facts” related to LGBT Pride Month, thanks to a collaboration between the company’s LGBT employee group Glamazon and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC).

Information given in response to the question, “Alexa, tell me a Pride fact” includes stats on same-sex “marriage,” information about the LGBT flag, and advertising for HRC events.

While companies like Amazon, AT&T, Macy’s, JetBlue, Gap, Apple, Twitch, Stoli, and Spotify are participating in “Pride Month,” for the second straight year, President Trump has not officially recognized the annual event. The only designations Trump has made so far for the month include proclaiming June 2018 as Great Outdoors Month, National Caribbean-American Heritage Month, National Homeownership Month, and African-American Music Appreciation Month.
