Planned Parenthood Reminds DREAMers They Can Still Get Abortions

Cecile Richardson, president of Planned Parenthood, responded to President Donald Trump’s end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) with a tweet saying, “Cruel. Unacceptable. We won’t stand silent. Our doors remain open to all, including DREAMers and DACA recipients—no matter what.”

Richardson’s strong statement opened a firestorm from pro-lifers on Twitter, who quickly pointed out Richardson’s lack of compassion for the lives of the unborn who are murdered by the well-funded abortion giant every day.

Planned Parenthood’s fundraising email that reiterated “We believe in every person’s right to control their own destiny and their own body” obviously doesn’t include unborn persons.

South Carolina Governor Boldly Defunds Planned Parenthood

Recently, South Carolina’s governor, Henry McMaster, issued an executive order that blocks taxpayer dollars from going to any health care clinics that perform abortions. “Taxpayer dollars must not directly or indirectly subsidize abortion providers like Planned Parenthood,” said Gov. McMaster.

The order also directs South Carolina’s Health and Human Services Department to request a waiver from the federal government that would allow the department to stop funding abortion through the state’s Medicaid provider network. The governor is also making available a list of all qualified non-abortion women’s health and family planning providers operating within a 25-mile radius of any abortion clinic that is excluded from the state’s Medicaid provider network.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Antony List, praised the Palmetto State’s decision. “We thank Governor McMaster for acting to ensure taxpayers fund comprehensive primary and preventative care for women and families, not abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood. Abortion is not health care,” she said.

New Emoji App Tries to Get Millennials to Donate to Planned Parenthood

Last week, New York artist Ivy Hu launched a new app called Ooti the Uterus, a set of 26 animated emoji stickers featuring a pink uterus, to celebrate the nation’s abortion giant. It is available on the Apple app store for $1.99 and all proceeds go to Planned Parenthood.

As it says on the official website, “Ooti’s here so we can celebrate this amazing reproductive organ as well as support the fantastic health services Planned Parenthood provides.” Pro-aborts might call this new app “cute,” but they are severely misinformed when it comes to Planned Parenthood’s “fantastic health services.” The abortion giant actually does less to help women than other community comprehensive health centers and even some pro-life pregnancy resource centers.

What About Margaret Sanger?

While several groups are seeking to remove various Confederate historical monuments and statues because of the Confederacy’s connection to the slavery issue, one wonders if the same type of ethical standard should be applied to the bust of Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood’s racist founder, at the Smithsonian’s Struggle for Justice exhibit.

In a 2015 letter to the museum’s director, Ministers Taking a Stand, a group of black pastors, pointed out Sanger’s well-documented promotion of eugenics, efforts to limit, if not eliminate black births, as well as her elitist and racist attitudes and comments in an effort to have the bust removed. The Smithsonian has refused to remove the bust, saying there is no “moral test” for those included in the gallery.

Isn’t it only fair that if those who played a hand in promulgating evil in our U.S. history must be removed, then the woman who believed in exterminating blacks should also be among those removals? How disingenuous of the Left to condemn history on one side but not the other.

Feminist Group Tries to ‘Expose’ Pregnancy Care Centers

Those undercover fetal tissue trafficking videos exposing Planned Parenthood must have really gotten under the skin of some pro-choice liberals, because now the crudely named Lady Parts Justice League is trying to recruit pro-abortion feminists to go undercover to “expose” pregnancy care centers through their “ExposeFakeClinics” campaign.

The irony is that these pro-life pregnancy care centers offer women many helpful services for free, and do so with little or no taxpayer support, unlike Planned Parenthood clinics. And what’s fake about needy women getting real care like pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, prenatal exams, STD testing, and counseling on alternatives to abortion?

Alliance Defending Freedom notes, “The truth, of course, is that federally qualified health centers serve women much better and are more deserving of funds than Planned Parenthood, and pregnancy care centers offer hope to women that Planned Parenthood won’t.”
