Gallup Poll Tries to Prove Same-Sex ‘Marriage’ More Acceptable Now

Acceptance of homosexual “marriage” has dramatically shifted in the last 12 years, according to a new Gallup survey that has been conducted yearly since 2005. Sixty-one percent believe same-sex “marriage” should be recognized as legally valid, whereas about that same amount believed it was wrong in 2005.

Perhaps more telling is that according to the survey, 60 percent believe that homosexual behavior is “morally acceptable,” while 37 percent believe it to be “morally wrong.” Again, the findings have basically flipped since 2001.

Brian Camenker, founder and president of the pro-family group Mass Resistance, has a theory about this shift. He contends it takes “massive amounts of constant media and cultural propaganda for people to believe these things. Thus, the big change in a relatively short time. But if that stops, everything will go back to normal. It always has.”

It will only stop, however, if people of faith are willing to challenge the truth of the prevailing sexual ethic.

Psychiatrists Are Losing Their Minds

If a powerful voice in psychiatry isn’t silenced, we may find ourselves in a culture that approves pedophilia under the politically correct name, “minor-attracted sexuality”.

Some psychiatrists in this country need to see a psychologist or perhaps just a person with common sense to get their own new mental disorder fixed. You won’t believe what they are up to now.

Psychiatry got off track years ago when it moved from diagnosis of the mind, mental health, and the relationship of mental health to human flourishing into politics. I’m referring, of course, to the American Psychiatric Association’s decision in the early 1970’s, as a result of heavy politicking by homosexual activists, to declassify homosexuality as a mental health condition under the profession’s “bible,” the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders. And while those who engage in homosexual conduct still constitute only about 3% of the U.S. population, with the aid of these psychiatrists such conduct has certainly become more mainstream since then.

But continuing down that same path, a new group of psychiatrists has organized under the name of B4U-ACT to push the envelope even further. The group is apparently afraid someone will put a limit to how someone might want to express their sexuality, in this case, sex with minors. That’s right. According to them, “stigmatizing and stereotyping minor-attracted people inflames the fears of minor-attracted people,” and that, of course, contributes to bad mental health.

Of course, this new moniker does not change the fact that we’re talking here about pedophilia. And maybe it never occurred to them that pedophilia might contribute to bad mental health because grown adults having sex with minors might produce guilt over the fact that they may be taking advantage of someone who is not sufficiently mature to consent to sexual activity.

Admittedly, society has had to draw a line somewhere as to the age at which a person has had sufficient life experiences and developed sufficient maturity to make a mature judgment as to whether to engage in sexual relations. But no limit? Or a case-by-case limit that essentially is unenforceable?

A phobia is an irrational fear. In this case it’s irrational to believe that there are no limits to who ought to have sex with whom (or what). And the fear that someone might actually believe that there are norms for the expression of human sexuality and that all sexual expressions are not equal is irrational. Lots of people still think it’s not okay to have sex with just anyone and even more think sex with minors is not okay. The irrational ones are these psychiatrists.

Doc, it looks like you suffer from a new disease that perhaps we should call “sexaphobia.” And maybe we should say to these doctors, “Physician, heal thyself.” If we don’t, we may find ourselves in a culture that approves pedophilia under the politically correct name, minor-attracted sexuality.
