FACT recognizes and honors the intrinsic value of all human life.
The law should protect the life of every person—no matter how old, young or disabled. Over the past few decades some in our culture have waged war on human life: legalizing abortion in Roe v. Wade, destroying human embryos in the name of scientific research, and seeking to legalize “mercy” killing.
We seek to reverse these life-denying trends and to foster a culture that respects human life. One way are doing this is by supporting The Tennessee Life Amendment.
Over the years, the Tennessee Legislature has passed a series of sensible laws regulating abortion, but the Tennessee Supreme Court struck down most of these laws in 2000 when it found that the state constitution contains more protection for abortion than the U.S. Constitution.
In order to make sure the state constitution is neutral on abortion, state legislators adopted Senate Joint Resolution 127 (SJR 127). This resolution will allow Tennesseans to vote in 2014 to amend the state constitution to again make it “neutral” on abortion, and once again allow common sense abortion regulations.
