This Months Updates:

Intern Joins FACT for Spring Semester

(February 19, 2009) – This fall, FACT launched an internship for the current spring semester for college students looking for a practical, hands-on educational experience for academic credit. “Having taught at the college level, I saw how valuable good internships were, both for the student and for the organization sponsoring the internship. It was a real win-win situation,” said Mr. Fowler, FACT’s President.

This fall, FACT welcomed its first intern, Nicole Yarbrough, from Nashville. Ms. Yarbrough is a political science graduate student at Regent University, having received her undergraduate degree in political science from Tennessee Tech. “We are delighted to have Nicole join us, and she has really hit the ground running, helping us in a number of ways and getting some good experience. Already she has helped us come up with a really great educational piece demonstrating to elected officials the connection between strong families and good economic policy.”

If you or someone you know might be interested in an internship for the summer or for next fall, you can find out more at factn.org/internships.htm.

Opportunities and Needs

(February 19, 2009) – “The growth we’ve experienced in the last several months has been so exciting,” said FACT’s President, David Fowler, “but it has also brought some new needs and challenges.” FACT will soon be opening a new office and is looking for good new or used office dividers, desks and chairs, and computers/monitors. “We run a very lean operation, desiring to be good stewards of the funds that our generous donors have entrusted to us. So if we can find supporters willing to donate office furniture in good condition, computers, or dividers or sell these to us at a good price, it will allow us to spend more of our funds on programming,” Mr. Fowler noted.

FACT is also looking for people who could volunteer to provide some regular help in the office, which will most likely be located in the Brentwood/Cool Springs area. “With the growth of our network has come a real increase in time spent entering new friends in our database, updating email and postal addresses and other things of that nature,” said Dr. David Shelley, FACT’s Director of Church and Community Relations. “Having help keeping all that information current would be a real blessing.”

If you have items that would “outfit” an office or could dedicate some time to providing assistance in the office, please contact FACT at info@FACTn.org.
